APIA Reminds Farmers of the Deadline for Emergency Financial Support in the Sheep/Goat Farming Sector

The Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture (APIA) reminds potential beneficiaries that applications for emergency financial support in agriculture for the sheep and goat farming sector affected by adverse climatic conditions can be submitted until March 21, 2025 (inclusive).

Applications must be submitted at APIA's county/local centers or at the APIA Center in Bucharest. This financial support scheme applies across Romania and aims to compensate agricultural producers in the sheep/goat farming sector for economic losses caused by the adverse climatic phenomenon of soil drought, which occurred between September 2023 and August 2024.

Financial Resources and Support Amount

The total allocated financial resources for this emergency support scheme amount to 238,795,200 lei (equivalent to 48,000,000 euros, based on the exchange rate of 4.9749 lei per euro).

The emergency financial aid is set at 248 lei per female sheep/goat youth and applies to livestock ranging from 50 to 300 heads per beneficiary, registered under an *ANSVSA-coded holding.

*Applicants with more than 300 female sheep/goat youth will receive financial support calculated for a maximum of 300 animals per beneficiary, provided they own at least 50 animals per ANSVSA-registered holding.

Payment Deadlines

Emergency support payments will be made by April 30, 2025. Payments may also be processed after this date, but only for invalid accounts, with a final deadline of June 30, 2025.
