The Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture (APIA) informs that the control sample for the 2024 Campaign has been selected, corresponding to the area payment schemes, rural development measures, aid schemes in the livestock sector, and conditionality from the payment application.

Thus, the control sample extracted from the APIA database includes a total of 13,160 farmers and a total controlled area of 795,003.69 hectares, for which compliance with conditionality norms, minimum and specific requirements related to payment schemes in the plant sector and the livestock sector will be verified, as follows:

• for field control related to aid schemes in the plant sector – 7,912 farmers;
• for field control related to aid schemes in the livestock sector – 5,356 farmers;
• for field control regarding conditionality – 1,314 farmers.

In accordance with the operational procedure for classic field control applicable in the 2024 Campaign, APIA is obliged to conduct on-site control for the sampled payment applications by October 11, 2024, and the associated control of certain specific obligations/requirements will be conducted, as the case may be, in the winter or spring of the following year. If farmers refuse to allow field control by APIA inspectors, the payment application will be rejected.

We note that the control sample for the 2024 Campaign is smaller by 3,128 farmers compared to the 2023 Campaign.
