The Awards for Rural and Agricultural Inspiration (ARIA) 2023 celebrated projects funded by the CAP that promote skills for agriculture and rural areas. Get to know the winners and learn all about the finalists through the official EU-CAP-Network website of the European Union.
ARIA 2023 celebrated best practice projects co-financed by the CAP. 92 entries were received from 20 member states within the competition's four thematic categories.
The projects were collected and submitted by the National CAP Networks. Experts from the EU CAP network selected 24 projects (six per category), and the jury selected four winners, while a public vote was open throughout November, allowing the audience to vote for their favorite project from the shortlist. Over 13,000 votes were cast through the Popular Vote platform.
At the ARIA ceremony, held at the Théâtre du Vaudeville in Brussels, a representative of the European Commission awarded the winners of the ARIA 2023 competition as follows:
Environmental Protection: Landscape Farm, Portugal
Socio-economic Network of Rural Areas: Regional Cooperation Project + Business + Employment, Spain
Stakeholder Skills in Rural Areas: Local Energy for Farmers and Citizens, Belgium
Smart and Competitive Agriculture: KoroKausi, Finland
Popular Vote: Urban Farm Doetinchem, Netherlands
Additionally, two projects were highly appreciated by the jury:
Environmental Protection: Farming for Nature, Austria
Socio-economic Fabric of Rural Areas: Food Act 13, Belgium
The ceremony was broadcast live, and the recording is available on the ARIA page of the EU CAP network website, where you can learn more about the winners and all the finalist projects. (Photo: Source cited)
