Over €60 Million Paid to Farmers as Part of the Coupled Support Scheme for the 2024 Campaign

On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, through the Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture (APIA), began transferring funds under the Coupled Support Scheme for the 2024 campaign. More than 43,500 farmers will receive payments totaling over €60 million, financed from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF).

“We fully understand the importance of these funds for sustaining agricultural activity and supporting sensitive sectors such as livestock and specialized crops. Farmers will start seeing the payments in their accounts beginning tomorrow and in the days to follow,” said Nicoleta Gabriela Andrei, General Director of APIA.

The transferred amounts cover both basic interventions and coupled support measures for specialized crops—including soybean, alfalfa, legumes, rice, seed potatoes, sugar beet, vegetables, and fruit—as well as for the livestock sector, including dairy cows, beef cattle, sheep, goats, dairy buffalo, and silkworms.

Key Allocations:

  • Soybean – over €14 million
  • Alfalfa – over €12 million
  • Sugar beet – over €12 million
  • Vegetables (grown in open fields, greenhouses, and solariums) – approx. €6.4 million
  • Fruit (plums, apples, cherries, etc.) – over €2.5 million

Payments are made in Romanian lei, using the exchange rate set by the European Commission: 4.9753 lei/euro.
