Automation of slaughter lines is becoming a necessity in the context of growing demands for food safety, traceability, and economic efficiency. In Romania, the transition to automated equipment has started in large facilities, but interest is also increasing among medium-sized processors.

Modern systems for slaughtering, deboning, and automated packaging allow better quality control and reduce human errors. They also optimize workflows and contribute to lowering water and energy consumption.

Another major advantage is the standardization of the final product, which facilitates access to international markets and compliance with quality certifications. At the same time, automated systems provide real-time data on productivity and can be integrated with ERP software.

The implementation of these solutions remains costly – investments in a fully automated line can exceed €1 million. However, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INS), units that have adopted such systems have reported a productivity increase of over 25% and an operational cost reduction of 15–20%.
