MADR (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) informs that, considering the information that has appeared in the public domain regarding possible irregularities in accessing and granting funds related to the implementation of the "Minimis Aid for Supporting Garlic Production Program," the Minister of Agriculture, Florin-Ionuț Barbu, has instructed the Control Body to carry out thorough inspections regarding the procedure for accessing and awarding funds.

The control action aims to establish measures for verifying the allocation of funds in 2023 in Giurgiu County, in accordance with Government Decision No. 393/2023.

During the inspection, attention will be given to possible disciplinary misconduct by public servants within the Giurgiu County Department of Agriculture, who are responsible for verifying cultivated areas and evaluating garlic crops.

The results of the inspections will be the subject of a report that will follow the procedures provided by the legislation.
