The prestigious Innovation Award for Women Farmers celebrates and recognizes the outstanding contributions of women in agriculture who have pioneered innovative solutions to promote sustainability in the European Union's agricultural sector.
This award highlights the vital role of women as key players in shaping the future of agriculture and rural areas. Since its inception, each edition has focused on a specific theme—and this year is no exception.

When discussing the transition to more sustainable agricultural practices, it is impossible to overlook the critical role of water in everyday farming. Water resource management has become a top priority to ensure the resilience of rural communities and the sustainability of our economic, social, and environmental ecosystems.
The uncertainties associated with climate variability, combined with extreme weather events, call for innovative strategies in managing and distributing water resources. That is why the 8th Edition of the Copa-Cogeca Innovation Award for Women Farmers focuses on:

Recognizing Water Management Innovation
Water innovation can take many forms on the farm. Copa-Cogeca and Corteva aim to acknowledge the transformative initiatives led by women farmers and the positive impact these have on the sustainability of their production and the vitality of rural communities as a whole.

All types of actions, measures, and innovative projects that tackle sustainable water management are eligible for the 2025 award. Each entry will be assessed based on the following non-cumulative criteria:
