The National Olympiad in the Curricular Area of Technologies, in the field of Agriculture - Animal Husbandry and Plant Cultivation, is being organized from April 26th to April 30th and will be hosted by the "Alexandru Borza" Agricultural Technical High School in Geoagiu.

The National Olympiad of Technologies encourages excellence, innovation, and the sharing of knowledge among young farmers and specialists in animal husbandry. This competition not only recognizes the efforts of young people but also prepares them to become future leaders in the agricultural industry.

This event provides a valuable platform where talented young individuals can demonstrate their skills and dedication in front of a select audience. Throughout the competition, participants have the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge, solve practical problems, and interact with industry professionals. This helps them prepare for future challenges in an essential field for society.

The written exam of the Olympiad will take place on Saturday, and on Monday, the practical exam will be held at the didactic farm of the "Alexandru Borza" Agricultural Technical High School in Geoagiu, followed in the afternoon by the announcement of results and the award ceremony. The detailed schedule for students and accompanying teachers can be found on the school's website here.

In the context of the Olympiad, students from agricultural high schools enrolled in the "Growing through Agricultural Education" (CEA) program will also participate. This program is implemented by a Consortium consisting of five organizations: the World Vision Romania Foundation (WVR), the Civitas Foundation for Civil Society, Junior Achievement Romania (JA), the Romanian Center for European Policies (CRPE), with the support of the Romanian-American Foundation (RAF).

The "Growing through Agricultural Education" program brings together agricultural education, new technologies, and the business environment to support the performance of teachers and managers in high schools. Together, we enhance the reputation of agricultural education, both among students and private partners.

We support agricultural high schools in offering relevant educational programs focused on the local economy, aimed at training future farmers and small and medium-sized entrepreneurs in agriculture, and creating models of good practice that can be extended nationwide.

Since 2015, CEA efforts have focused on restoring the importance of agricultural education by improving the skills and motivation of teachers to provide students with innovative, updated technical training using modern Agriculture 4.0 resources, connecting with the business environment through organizing study visits for students and teachers to modern farms, creating practice models for students, and supporting promotional campaigns for agricultural high schools.

CEA initiatives aim to bring agricultural education up to date to connect high schools with real agriculture and to strengthen relations with farmers and the agribusiness environment that can contribute to the training of the future generation of farmers.
