In the Government session, the Memorandum on "Supplementing the limits of budgetary credits and commitment credits approved for July 2024 for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development" was approved, based on the provisions of OUG34/2023.

Thus, through this memorandum, the limits of commitment and budgetary credits for July were supplemented by 182,000,000 lei to fully cover the necessary funds for the payment of support granted for the first production cycle of tomatoes.

The amount is granted within the state aid scheme for the partial compensation of losses in tomato cultivation in protected spaces, in the context of the crisis caused by Russia's aggression against Ukraine, by reaching the maximum unitary amount.

The supplementation was made considering the large number of beneficiaries enrolled in the program under the pedoclimatic conditions of our country, which determine that the interest and possibilities of agricultural producers to grow tomatoes in protected spaces during the off-season are relatively low without substantial financial support, especially in the context of a significant increase in inputs along the production chain.
