In livestock operations, performance is not determined solely by the decisions made, but also by their frequency. The interval between adjustments directly influences a farm’s ability to remain within optimal parameters.

In dairy farms, infrequent adjustments to rations or work schedules lead to the accumulation of imbalances, reflected in production declines of 5–8%. In the pork sector, the lack of periodic interventions in group organization generates inconsistencies and efficiency losses.

In poultry farms, delayed adjustments to temperature, ventilation, or lighting quickly affect behavior and growth, even when systems are modern and fully functional.

The difference between farms is not defined only by technology, but by the pace of adaptation. Farms operating on “fixed settings” gradually lose performance, while those that adjust frequently maintain control over results.

Decision-making is not a singular moment, but a continuous process. The interval between decisions thus becomes an indirect indicator of managerial performance.
