Specialists from AZM remind us that the month of November, also known as "Brumar" in some regions, is the last month of autumn and the period when farms make final preparations for winter.
In the orchard, if the weather is favorable, fruit trees and bushes are planted, or holes are dug for those that will be planted in the spring.
Tree trunks are whitewashed with lime to prevent rabbits from being tempted and damaging the bark. For the gradual transition from pasture to stable, farmers prepare shelters for the winter season.
-
Harvesting, transporting, and storing agricultural products are completed.
-
The most important activity in November is preparing the land for the spring campaign.
-
Agricultural fields are cleared of plant residues.
-
It is recommended that all agricultural land be plowed before winter sets in.
-
Along with land preparation, 20-30 tons of manure per hectare are applied every 3-4 years, along with phosphorus and potassium-based fertilizers at a rate of 40-60 kg of active substance per hectare.
-
Plowing is done, depending on the soil, at a depth of 18-20 cm, with the clarification that on soils with too tall vegetation, it is advisable to first shred it with a disc harrow. On arable land with a slope greater than 12%, soil work, including planting, is done along contour lines and not perpendicular to them to prevent soil erosion.
