Specialists from ANZM recommend the following tasks for spring crops during this period:

- Performing spring plowing that wasn't done in autumn; these should be done in conjunction with harrowing to maintain moisture in the soil;

- Continuing the transportation and administration of manure, followed by immediate soil incorporation to prevent the evaporation of nutrients;

- Applying nitrogen fertilizers to autumn crops where not applied until April;

- Harrowing the autumn fields to retain moisture in the soil;

- Sowing early spring crops such as alfalfa, clover, rape, spring barley, and continuing with fodder beet, while after April 10th, corn should be sown, when the soil temperature is at least 8-10°C for three consecutive days;

- Carrying out weed control for autumn crops when the air temperature is 15°C;

- Checking the vegetation status of autumn-sown crops; if some plants are bare, rolling should be done to bring them into contact with the soil;

- Draining water from autumn-seeded crops and flooded fields by creating drainage channels. (Photo: Dreamstime)
