The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has launched the project submission session for DR-15 - Investments in orchards, an essential intervention from the Strategic Plan for the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2023 – 2027.

This initiative contributes to achieving specific CAP objectives, namely enhancing the competitiveness of orchards through the provision of machinery and equipment, establishing, modernizing, and/or expanding processing units, establishing orchards, converting existing plantations, and increasing the areas occupied by fruit tree nurseries.

The session will take place until April 30, 2024, at 4:00 PM.

The financial allocation for the project submission session is €151,383,527, distributed as follows:

  • Component for establishing and modernizing orchards: €142,383,527
  • Component for establishing and modernizing fruit tree nurseries: €9,000,000

The beneficiaries of this session are farmers (excluding individuals), agricultural cooperatives and cooperative societies serving the interests of their members, groups, and producer organizations recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR), established based on the current national legislation, and serving their interests.

The non-repayable support granted through the DR-15 intervention is a maximum of 65% of eligible costs, not exceeding €1,500,000 per project, except for projects involving the purchase of agricultural machinery and equipment, whose cost cannot exceed €300,000.

MADR encourages the active participation of beneficiaries and expects innovative projects that contribute to the sustainable development of the orchard sector in Romania.
