Violeta Mușat, State Secretary at MADR, Attends AgriFish Council Meeting in Brussels

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR), Violeta Mușat, State Secretary at MADR, participated in the AgriFish Council meeting in Brussels.

Accompanying her was Dana Rebega, Director General of the General Directorate for Rural Development - AM PNDR. The key points on the agenda included the implementation of the principle of rural resilience and the market situation, particularly in the wake of Ukraine's invasion.

The Council discussed "rural resilience," a policy review approach from a rural perspective to ensure that policies are suitable for people living and working in rural areas.

Member state representatives debated ways to better integrate rural development into EU strategies and funding mechanisms, considering the specific needs and challenges of rural areas.

Based on information provided by the European Commission and member states, participants analyzed the evolution of agricultural markets and major products—an ongoing topic on the Council's agenda.
