Beneficiaries of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (FEADR) have received a new payment tranche totaling 3.19 million euros (15.08 million lei) in their bank accounts.

Through the payments made in the payment tranche on April 22, 2024, the Agency for the Financing of Rural Investments reimbursed the expenses incurred within agriculture and rural development investment projects, as well as those related to environmental and climate measures.

Of this amount, 3.04 million euros (14.32 million lei) represent financing from the National Budget, with the difference covered by the FEADR - European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.

The majority of payments, namely 2.3 million euros, were made for public utility investments (under measures 4.3 - agricultural, forestry, and irrigation infrastructure, 7.2 - basic infrastructure in rural areas, and 7.6 - heritage protection). At this payment stage, Local Action Groups received 700 thousand euros for expenses incurred for the development of local communities through the LEADER axis.

For environmental and climate measures, AFIR paid over 185 thousand euros on April 22, 2024.

Non-reimbursable public funds are granted following verification and payment authorization by AFIR experts of the expenses incurred, based on payment requests received from public and private beneficiaries of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (FEADR), in accordance with concluded financing contracts, as well as the commitments made.
