The Popular DR-30 Grant Scheme for Young Farmers Will Not Be Relaunched in 2025, Says AFIR Director
One of the most sought-after funding lines managed by Romania’s Agency for Financing Rural Investments (AFIR) – the “Young Farmers Installation” measure (DR‑30) – will not be reopened in 2025. The announcement was made by AFIR General Director Adrian Chesnoiu, who stated that the available budget was fully allocated during the session launched in November 2023.
“For DR‑30, we currently have no funds available. We will not launch anything new in 2025, except for the four measures we already discussed – DR‑12, DR‑14, DR‑16, and DR‑23. We must close the previous programme, evaluate what funds remain, and then, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, we will set the priorities for 2026,” said Chesnoiu during an Agro TV broadcast.
In the previous session, launched in 2023, thousands of young farmers from across the country submitted projects to receive the non-refundable support of €70,000 offered to those establishing themselves for the first time as heads of agricultural holdings. However, the budget proved insufficient to cover all applications.
According to official statements, the DR‑30 measure may be relaunched in 2026, depending on remaining funds and the priorities outlined in the future CAP Strategic Plan.
