The horticulture and flower production specialists at ANZM recommend the following tasks in the field:
Breaking the ice crusts formed due to frost;
If water pockets have formed under the ice crusts, drainage is carried out by digging small trenches;
Repairing fences and gardening equipment;
Ensuring the stock of fertilizers and fertilizers;
Checking the irrigation system to prevent the risk of pipe or hose cracking, in case of accidental water leaks;
From the second half of the month, the fertilization procedure is applied to the shrubs and plants that remain green all year round;
Pruning shrubs that are expected to bloom in the summer, taking care to intervene to a lesser extent on those that have already formed flower buds;
Deciduous climbing plants, such as honeysuckle, need to be pruned and shaped;
Perennial plants need to be divided and moved before they start to produce new shoots;
Plants stored in enclosed rooms need to be lightly watered if the phenomenon of soil drying is noticed.
