The Agency for Rural Investment Financing has published on www.afir.ro the final version of the Applicant's Guide for DR-25 Irrigation Infrastructure Modernization, an intervention funded through the Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan 2023 – 2027 (CAP SP 2027).

Based on the guide and its annexes, eligible beneficiaries (Irrigation Water User Associations, established in accordance with the current legislation) can start preparing the project to request funding during the funding application submission session. The period during which the session will take place will be communicated at a later date.

The maximum financing amount that can be obtained for the modernization of irrigation systems through DR-25 is 1,500,000 euros per beneficiary, and the public support is 100% non-repayable relative to eligible costs.

Under this funding line, investments in the modernization of irrigation infrastructure (pressure boosting stations and the associated network), the buildings related to pressure boosting stations and/or connection to utilities, as well as the installation of water metering systems, are eligible.

Investments aimed at using reclaimed water as an alternative water supply source are also eligible, only if the supply and use of this water are in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2020/741 of the European Parliament and of the Council, as well as national legislation in the field.

Furthermore, the project can cover the reimbursement of expenses related to the project's general costs for consultancy, design, monitoring, and management, including fees for advice on economic and environmental sustainability, fees for issuing certificates, as well as fees for obtaining the necessary permits, agreements, and authorizations for project implementation, as provided by national legislation.
