Beneficiaries of European funds granted through the Agency for Rural Investment Funding have received non-repayable funds totaling 18.46 million euros in their accounts.
Through the payments made in the installment on April 15, 2024, the Agency for Rural Investment Funding has reimbursed the expenses incurred within projects for agricultural and rural development investments, as well as commitments for environmental and climate measures.
Of this amount, 13.7 million euros were paid from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (FEADR), and 2.26 million euros from the EURI - European Union Recovery Instrument. The difference, namely 2.49 million euros, represents the contribution from the National Budget.
The majority of payments, amounting to 5.15 million euros, have been deposited into the accounts of farmers who have requested reimbursement of expenses for investments in agricultural and orchard farms (through measures 4.1, 4.1A, 6.1, and 6.3).
Additionally, 1.5 million euros have been transferred to processors' accounts for investments in processing units (through measures 4.2 and 4.2A).
Payments of over 2.5 million euros have been made for public utility investments (through measures 7.2 and 7.6), and 1.56 million euros for non-agricultural investments. At this payment stage, Local Action Groups have received 3.15 million euros for expenses incurred for the development of local communities through the LEADER axis.
Farmers have received an additional 2.65 million euros for the reimbursement of agricultural crop insurance policies. Simultaneously, for making compensatory payments for environmental and climate measures, the Agency for Rural Investment Funding has disbursed over 1 million euros.
Non-repayable public funds are granted following verification and payment authorization by AFIR experts of the expenses incurred, based on payment requests received from public and private beneficiaries of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (FEADR), in accordance with concluded financing contracts and the commitments made.
