The Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture has authorized the advance payment for the 2023 Campaign in the amount of 843,935,993.45 euros from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF), the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) + co-financing from the National Budget (BN1), and the European Union Recovery Instrument (EURI), for a total of 662,586 farmers.

It is worth noting that within the 2023 Campaign, APIA grants advances of 70% from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF) for direct payments and 85% from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) for delegated measures.

Payments for interventions funded from EAGF are made in Romanian Lei, at the exchange rate of 4.9735 lei/euro, and payments for measures funded from EAFRD at the exchange rate of 4.9495 lei/euro.

"We are rapidly approaching the end of the first advance payment campaign under the new PAC Strategic Plan 2023-2027, which will conclude on November 30, 2023. Despite the challenges, considering the new elements of the 2023-2027 programming period and the need for systemic and procedural adaptations, I want to assure farmers that all APIA staff is mobilized to successfully complete this activity so that all eligible farmers are authorized for the advance payment within the legal deadline," stated the Director General of APIA, Mr. Cornel Constantin TURCESCU.
