As announced in its proposals for reducing the administrative burden on farmers, the Commission has launched an online survey to directly collect the opinions of farmers from the EU.
The survey is open until April 8th. The questions are short and available in all EU languages. The questionnaire aims to gather valuable feedback to understand the main concerns of farmers.
Additionally, the survey will contribute to identifying the sources underlying the complexity and administrative burden resulting from Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) rules, as well as other food and agriculture regulations, both in terms of their national implementation and the registration and reporting obligations related to them. Preliminary results will be presented by mid-April.
This survey will already provide a clearer picture of the main administrative obstacles facing farmers by early summer, as perceived by them.
The survey results will be included in a more detailed analysis to be published in the fall of 2024, aiming to clarify the sources of complexity for farmers, whether at the EU level, national level, or as a result of the CAP and other requirements and policies.
