The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) has posted a draft decision for the approval of a state aid scheme to partially compensate for losses in the garlic crop established from the autumn of 2023 to the spring of 2024, in the context of the crisis caused by Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
The total allocated amount is 20,868,280 lei, equivalent to 4,230,000 euros, and the maximum amount of de minimis aid is 1,500 euros/ha.
Beneficiaries, namely undertakings engaged in primary production of plant agricultural products, must submit their applications and supporting documents by April 19, 2024, inclusive.
Payment of the amounts representing state aid will be made by June 30, 2024, and field checks of the garlic crops established will be carried out by mixed teams formed by experts from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture.
In case the total payment amount to be granted to the beneficiaries exceeds the total financial resources provided for in the regulatory act, the amount due to each beneficiary will be proportionally reduced.
By instituting the state aid scheme, a financial grant will be provided to agricultural producers engaged in the primary production of agricultural products to partially compensate for losses in the garlic crop established from the autumn of 2023 to the spring of 2024, in the context of the crisis caused by Russia's aggression against Ukraine.
