The last weekend of April brings to the Royal Domain of Săvârșin the second edition of the Soul of Romania festival.

Everything that is good and the things that make us beautiful are concentrated in two days of experiences that encourage Romania's artisans to connect with the community and help us discover the small local producers, traditions, and authentic customs of the Romanian village.

The event initiated by Profi brings together small local producers, skilled craftsmen, an outdoor cinema with Romanian films, folk dances, and concerts supported, among others, by Narcisa Suciu, Vasile Șeicaru, Ducu Bertzi, and Florin Chilian. Participants in the second edition of the Soul of Romania festival will have a soulful meeting with Father Constantin Necula on Saturday, April 27th.

"We are pleased that the Soul of Romania festival is already becoming a tradition initiated by Profi to connect us with everything that is good and beautiful, in a place with a special historical significance. We seek to pass on to current and future generations those tastes and customs that define us as Romanians and that make us feel good.

On the last weekend of April, we bring together in one place organizations and people who care for the community, and we learn from each other how to put our soul into Romania," says Călin Costinaș, Deputy General Manager of Profi.

On April 27th and 28th, between 12:00 - 19:00, the Soul of Romania festival offers participants the opportunity to travel to a timeless village, reminiscent of the gatherings of yesteryear. In the space of the Royal Domain of Săvârșin, near Aleea Stejarilor Bătrâni, small local producers, supported by Profi, offer for sale their products prepared traditionally, from fresh and healthy ingredients.

Workshops for all ages are also available, providing experiences to connect with the Romanian village and its values, and several organizations that, like Profi, put their soul into the community, are brought together.

Entry is free, and participation in all festival activities is free!

The event encourages the community to connect with authentic values, good tastes, and the traditions of the Romanian village through experiences lived in a natural setting where rural life is recreated.

Profi's initiative is part of the tripartite agreement "Growing Communities," signed by the Association of His Majesty's House, the University of Life Sciences "Mihai I" from Timișoara, and the Profi retail chain, to support local producers and preserve authentic and traditional Romanian craftsmanship.

At the official opening of the Soul of Romania festival on April 27th, at 15:30, Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, Prince Radu, several central and local officials and authorities have confirmed their presence.

The complete program of the festival can be consulted on the Soul of Romania website and in the Facebook event created.

Tradition for supporting local producers

For Profi, community involvement is a tradition to which it dedicates time and resources, including the Raft with Local Goodies, the most extensive program to support small local artisanal producers.

Beyond their presence in the Raft with Local Goodies in selected Profi stores, small local producers tell their stories and present their offer on the largest national platform promoting them, Via-Profi.ro, through which anyone can embark on a journey full of the flavors of Romania.

With 28,000 employees in over 1,713 own stores and Partner stores present in almost 850 urban and rural localities, Profi is the largest private employer in Romania. PROFI SUPER, PROFI CITY, PROFI GO, and PROFI LOCO, the four store formats of the network, offer a range of 5,000 products appreciated by over 1.2 million customers who do their daily shopping in these stores. More than 94% of these products come from suppliers in Romania.
