The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, through the Agency for the Financing of Rural Investments, made payments in the total amount of 69 million euros (€69,000,041.61) to the beneficiaries of the National Rural Development Program (PNDR), during January 3 – February 16, 2023.

Of the total funds paid, 58.6 million euros (€58,586,463.72) represent the contribution of the European Commission. The amounts come from both the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development - EAFRD and the European Union's Recovery Instrument - EURI. The difference of 10.4 million euros (€10,413,577.89) represents funds allocated from the state budget.

We note that the amount of funds settled by AFIR includes payments made for the implementation of investment projects, but also direct and compensatory payments for environmental and climate measures.

Non-reimbursable public funds are paid as a result of payment requests received from farmers, processors, contractors and public authorities, in accordance with concluded financing contracts, after they have been verified and authorized for payment by AFIR.
