Weeds are plants without economic value when encountered in crops and reduce production. Weeds consume water and nutrients from the soil to the detriment of cultivated plants.

Additionally, they reduce the space available for cultivated plants, shade them, and cause a decrease in soil surface temperature. In fields with weeds, plants grow weaker, have lower resistance to lodging, produce weaker fruit, and become susceptible to disease and pest attacks.

Weed control is the main task in caring for cereal crops. According to Corteva's research, production losses in wheat cultivation due to weed competition are approximately 10-20%, but can reach up to 60-70% in extreme situations.

In Romania, the most commonly used agricultural practice is weed control of annual and perennial dicotyledonous weeds by applying herbicides in spring, a practice that also addresses the control of weeds that cannot be controlled by autumn herbicide application, such as thistle (Cirsium arvense) and bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis).

As the leader in herbicides for cereal crops, Corteva Agriscience offers a complete portfolio of herbicides for cereal crops, providing solutions for both autumn application with Bizon™ herbicide and spring application with Pixxaro™ Super, Pallas™, Floramix™, Mustang™, and Cerlit™ Super herbicides.

The Pixxaro™ Super package contains 1L of Pixxaro™ (fluroxypyr 280 g/L and halauxifen-methyl 12 g/L, known as Arylex™ Active, the first molecule belonging to the new Arylpicolinate class) and 120g of Frontal 50 SX (500 g/kg tribenuron methyl), intended for an area of 3.2-4 hectares, depending on the degree of infestation, to control annual and perennial dicotyledonous weeds in cereal crops both in autumn and spring: wheat, durum wheat, barley, oats, triticale, and rye. Note - it is not used for oat crops!

The dicotyledonous annual and perennial weeds controlled by the herbicides in the Pixxaro™ Super package are some of the most damaging for cereal crops, such as:

ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia), shepherd's purse (Capsella bursa-pastoris), cornflower (Centaurea cyanus), goosefoot (Chenopodium album), common fumitory (Fumaria officinalis), hemp-nettle (Galeopsis tetrahit), dead-nettle (Lamium spp.), common knotgrass (Polygonum aviculare), chickweed (Stellaria media), poppy (Papaver rhoeas), cleavers (Galium aparine), thistle (Cirsium arvense), and bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis).

The Pixxaro™ Super package is the safest solution for controlling poppy (Papaver rhoeas) in cereal crops, including those resistant to sulfonylurea herbicides.

The Pixxaro™ Super package is the most reliable solution for controlling perennial weeds: bindweed (Convolvulus arvensis) and thistle (Cirsium arvense).

The Pixxaro™ Super package, compared to existing solutions on the market, has the highest efficacy in controlling cleavers (Galium aparine), regardless of the developmental stages of this weed.

The Pixxaro™ Super package has very high application flexibility, from the 3-leaf stage (BBCH 13) to the booting stage of cereal crops (BBCH 45).

In addition to the mentioned advantages, when applied in accordance with the label recommendations and promotional materials, the Pixxaro™ Super package has excellent selectivity for cereal crops and does not affect subsequent crops in rotation, even under extreme drought conditions and in situations where minimal soil tillage has been performed.

Choose with confidence the Pixxaro™ Super package, offering you innovation with the widest spectrum of control for annual and perennial dicotyledonous weeds in cereal crops, with very fast action, highly selective for cereal crops, and no restrictions for crop rotation.
