The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MADR) has posted a draft Government Decision for the approval of ceilings allocated to national transitional aids in the plant sector for the 2023 application year.

Through this draft regulatory act, the ceilings allocated to national transitional aids in the plant sector are approved, amounting to 88,127,073 euros, distributed as follows:

  • 84,881,472 euros for crops located on arable land;
  • 5,630 euros for flax for fiber and hemp for fiber;
  • 1,648,135 euros for tobacco;
  • 83,643 euros for hops;
  • 1,508,193 euros for sugar beets.

The amounts per unit of measurement are calculated by the Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture, by relating the ceilings established by this regulatory act to the total number of eligible hectares for the year 2023, corresponding to national transitional aids. The provisions of this decision apply to approximately 557,000 beneficiaries of national transitional aids.

The total amount required for the implementation of national transitional aids in the plant sector is 88,127,073 euros, equivalent to 438,300,000 lei, and is provided from the MADR budget for the year 2024.

The granting of national transitional aids contributes to ensuring the financial capital necessary for carrying out specific agricultural activities by farmers.
