The Agency for Payments and Intervention in Agriculture (APIA) informs that it has made a payment of 30,325,439.73 lei corresponding to the agricultural lifetime annuity for the year 2022 as follows:

  • The amount of 473,279.96 lei was allocated to a total of 7,659 annuitants who requested payment through a bank account and obtained the endorsement of their annuity cards between March 1st and June 30th, 2023.
  • The amount of 433,327.36 lei was allocated to a total of 14,271 annuitants who requested payment through postal order and obtained the endorsement of their annuity cards between March 1st and May 31st, 2022.
  • The amount of 832.41 lei was allocated to a total of 336 heirs of deceased annuitants who requested the payment of the annuity for the year 2022 until the date of the annuitant's death, both through postal order and bank account.

The final payment deadline is November 30, 2023, by which APIA will make the remaining payments representing the lifetime annuity for the year 2022, including:

  • 4,550,461.69 lei for over 4,000 annuitants/beneficiaries who requested payment through postal order/bank account and obtained the endorsement of their annuity cards between July 1st and August 31st, 2023.
  • For heirs who will request the payment of the annuity for the year 2022 until the date of the annuitant's death and will provide proof of their heirship and the original annuity card, by the final deadline for submitting supporting documents on October 15, 2023.

In case there are multiple heirs, the person presenting the documents at the APIA Centers must provide a notarized power of attorney indicating the agreement of the other heirs regarding the request and collection of the agricultural lifetime annuity due to the annuitant.

It is important to note that the annual endorsement of annuity cards for the year 2022 could be obtained both through the physical presence of the annuitant or the authorized representative/mandatary/guardian and through electronic means of communication, by phone, or by mail/courier, in accordance with the provisions of Article 8 of Emergency Ordinance No. 41/2016 regarding the establishment of certain simplification measures at the level of central public administration. This measure was taken considering that annuitants are individuals with a high vulnerability, aged over 80.

In cases where the amounts transferred by APIA to annuitants are returned to the agency's account for various reasons, APIA can resume the payment within 3 years from the annual payment deadline (November 30 of each year), including in the event of the annuitant's death, to their legal heirs based on the corresponding supporting documents.
