The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has compiled updated information from the National Meteorological Administration (ANM) regarding soil water supply.
As a result, the precipitation recorded so far has replenished the soil water reserve, especially in the areas in the east, southeast, and south of the country, where pedological drought was extremely severe.
At this time, water supply is within satisfactory limits, close to optimal, and even optimal in most agricultural regions.
If the average precipitation from November 1-16, 2023, was 43.6 mm, for the period from November 1-26, it increased to the value of 86.3 mm (max.), exceeding the climatological average for the month of November by 44.8 mm.
According to ANM data, November 2023 is the second rainiest month from 1961 to the present, after November 1966 (96.9 mm).
The Dobrogea region sets a record in terms of the average precipitation this month, with a value of 128.7 mm recorded during the period from November 1-26, 2023, being the highest value in history, surpassing the previous record of 88.9 mm from November 1975.
It is worth mentioning that, in the period from November 1-16, 2023, the average precipitation in this region was 11.6 mm, compared to a monthly average of 34.8 mm.
