The Dutch machinery manufacturer Zocon has built a precision harrow with a width of 15 meters and a tine spacing of 2.2 centimeters. The purpose of this precision harrow is to address weeds in vulnerable crops at an early stage.
It even has pressure on the tines
Zocon developed the precision harrow in collaboration with another Dutch manufacturer, LMB Geertsema. The harrow is available in working widths of 3, 9, 12, and 15 meters.
The pressure on the 7 mm long tines is hydraulically adjustable by modifying the subframe with stainless steel plates located under the main frame.
The stainless steel auxiliary frame ensures even pressure on the tines at any working height, ranging from 100 grams to 5 kilograms. To maximize the number of tines (a total of 683 mm on a 15-meter wide harrow), the Zocon precision harrow has seven rows of tines.
130-degree angle
According to Zocon, the precision harrow has a high ground clearance. You can adjust the tines to a 130-degree angle. The heavy frame ensures stability when operating in the field, increasing its precision, according to Zocon.
It can also be used as a crust breaker. Due to various adjustment options, the harrow can be set to work in both dragging and stabbing modes.
As a result, the machine can be used in almost all crops and at all stages of weed pressure. The precision harrow is suitable for sandy and clay soils and can also be used as a crust breaker. (Photo: Zocon.eu)
